About IceWave® Patches
IceWave® is LifeWave's drug-free pain-support system. It uses two patches together, one white and one tan, placed around or near the area of discomfort. This two-patch strategy works with the body's bioelectrical field and acupuncture points rather than delivering medication through the skin.
IceWave is commonly selected for back, knee, shoulder, neck, joint, and muscle discomfort. Placement matters, so users often experiment within the recommended protocol to find the strongest response. It can be used on its own for targeted pain support or alongside broader wellness products such as X39.

Spleen 9 — Right (Inside Knee)
Located on the inner side of the knee, below the medial condyle of the tibia. For IceWave knee protocols, this represents the inside-knee white-patch area described in the local knowledge file.
⚠️ Do not apply over broken, swollen, or infected skin.
Gallbladder 34 — Right (Outside Knee)
Located on the outside of the lower leg, below and slightly in front of the fibular head. For IceWave knee protocols, this is the outside-knee tan-patch area.
⚠️ Do not apply over broken, swollen, or infected skin.
Spleen 9 — Left (Inside Knee)
Located on the inner side of the left knee. Mirror point to SP9-R for left-knee IceWave placement.
⚠️ Do not apply over broken, swollen, or infected skin.
Gallbladder 34 — Left (Outside Knee)
Located on the outside of the left lower leg, below and slightly in front of the fibular head. Mirror point to GB34-R for left-knee IceWave placement.
⚠️ Do not apply over broken, swollen, or infected skin.
Gallbladder 21 — Right (Shoulder Well)
Located at the highest point of the shoulder, midway between the neck and the shoulder tip. Useful as a shoulder/neck IceWave reference point.
⚠️ Traditionally contraindicated during pregnancy.
Gallbladder 21 — Left (Shoulder Well)
Located at the highest point of the left shoulder, midway between the neck and the shoulder tip. Mirror point to GB21-R.
⚠️ Traditionally contraindicated during pregnancy.
Bladder 23 — Right (Kidney Back-Shu)
Located about 1.5 cun lateral to the lower border of L2. This gives IceWave lower-back protocols a side-of-spine target instead of placing a patch directly on the spine.
⚠️ Keep IceWave patches off the spine itself; place to either side.
Bladder 23 — Left (Kidney Back-Shu)
Located about 1.5 cun lateral to the lower border of L2. Mirror point to BL23-R for lower-back IceWave placement.
⚠️ Keep IceWave patches off the spine itself; place to either side.
Governing Vessel 4 (Gate of Life)
Located on the lumbar midline between L2 and L3. Use as a landmark for lower-back protocols, then place IceWave patches slightly off the spine.
⚠️ Do not place IceWave patches directly on the spine; use the nearby side-of-spine area.
Recommended Protocols
IceWave Lower Back Protocol
Lower back discomfort and lumbar stiffness
Use GV4 as the lumbar landmark, then place the first IceWave patch slightly to one side of the spine.
Duration: Up to 12 hours · Do not place IceWave directly on the spine.
Place the second patch on the opposite or more painful side near BL23.
Duration: Up to 12 hours · If there is no improvement after several minutes, try reversing white and tan patches.
⚠️ Do not apply to broken skin. Seek medical evaluation for severe pain, numbness, weakness, fever, or pain radiating down the legs.
IceWave Knee Protocol
Knee discomfort and joint stiffness
Place the white patch on the inside of the painful knee near the SP9 area.
Duration: Up to 12 hours · Use the matching left-side point for left-knee discomfort.
Place the tan patch outside the same knee near GB34, roughly 3 inches from the white patch.
Duration: Up to 12 hours · If the response is poor, reverse white and tan placement.
⚠️ Do not apply over broken, infected, or very swollen skin. Sudden severe knee pain should be medically evaluated.
IceWave Shoulder and Neck Protocol
Shoulder, neck, or upper trapezius discomfort
Place one IceWave patch near the painful shoulder or GB21 area.
Duration: Up to 12 hours · Use the left or right side that matches the discomfort.
Place the second patch about 3 inches away on the same muscle band or opposite balancing point.
Duration: Up to 12 hours · Avoid placement over irritated skin.
⚠️ GB21 is traditionally contraindicated during pregnancy.
